The Division of Photonics (EFO) is equipped with a lot of specialized labs to deal with laser systems, optic fiber sensors, materials, optical and optoelectronic devices and components. Its Optical Surfaces Measurement Laboratory (LMSO) is accredited Level 2 by INMETRO. Part of the activities conducted at EFO is related with experimental studies on applied optics, isotopic separation and spectroscopy.
